No... you can clear a product through customs on your own without using a broker. (and have it shipped to you)

There's still taxes/duty, but no brokerage fee's because you are acting as the broker. :thumbsup:

to clear a product through customs, you must do it in person. To do it in person, you must live close enuf to a border to drive there and be present :) In 15 years of ordering products from the states (and doing all the research that goes along with it), I've NEVER heard of brokering a product yourself without being present....

is there a set fee for brokerage fees or does it depend on the value of the product..if it does is it always a certain percentage of the product value?

Since when did ED start to make their stuff in the US? There is a major difference between made in the US and assembled in the US with US and offshore parts.
