Energy Car Audio

I'm wondering if anyone knows first hand, or knows of where I can find, more detailed technical information about Energy car audio products. I have only been able to find the information available on Future Shop's website, and I know that they're exclusive distributor of Energy car audio. But I would very much like to get some more details on their stuff, that I can't seem to find anywhere else, including Energy's website.

I have listened to the speakers, and find them quite to my liking, but the only time I've heard the 12" sub, it was just in a generic box which didn't help it to sound good at all, so I'm not sure if I'd like to go that route. There was a pair of 10"s in a decent box, and they sounded better than their larger counterpart, but still not convinced that their subs are very good.

If anyone has any more information on this stuff, I'd love to see it. Thanks!

It is more important to get the rigth box...so if the price is good for you, the get the best box you can pay....I have seen 20 bucks woofers booming!!! in good boxes(vented mostly)...remember to get the rigth match with the amp.

I agree that its all in the box. I put my friends old ass Rockford P1's (two tens) in a slot port box I had made for 2 12's, we just made a new front baffle and dropped them in. They are getting 250rms for the pair and I am amazed at how well his car pounds. Put a 800 dollar sub in a poorly designed box, it won't sound that good.

yup pretty much.
My next box will be a custom built enclosure. Just have to find my next car, first.

I agree as well, a custom box is what this sub desires. My problem lies in that I have no reference of the Theile-Small parameters of the sub, as I cannot find much of ANY info on the drivers. Any help on finding those values would be greatly appreciated.

Good luck, I used to work at futureshop and even I couldn't find it.

That's where I'm working right now, so maybe I'll delve a little deeper into the mystery tomorrow at work.

Well I'm sorry you still work there.
Gentec also has very poor service.

for the original question, i have 2 10" energy subs in a costom sealed box and it really pounds

99CivicSi 08-08-2008 11:12 PM

from what I heard didn't Energy just liscense the name out to a chinese manufacturer, and has nothing beyond that to do with the car audio? Not that that makes it bad, just not saying it's guaranteed to be as good as there home speakers, which sound amazing

My brother in law has a full energy system, component set, 6x9's and 2 10's. Beautiful system. Crystal clear, I believe the Energy line is made by Klipsch. Not that any of this info will help you at all,but I'd give energy a big thumbs up, I plan on using energy gear on my next install.

99CivicSi 08-11-2008 10:57 PM

hmmm well if Energy truly is made by Klipsche, its prob a pretty reputable product then. Not that I condone leasing out ones brand name, but atleast it didn't go to a low quality builder

rangerfx4 09-14-2008 06:55 PM

i just picked up some energy 6.5" comps, they sound awesome, crystal clear, quality product

danyman 09-14-2008 08:42 PM

put lots of power to them and they will sing even better ( 150 watts rms per channel )

and ya get your box custom made. the extra mile will do the whole world to those subs. btw i work there too lol as the installer.

beefcurtains 09-15-2008 09:46 PM

i have a pair of 6.5 components in my civic doors, powered by a bridged 4 channel clarion, about 120 rms per channel...
the tweets are a tad bright for me, but overall I'm very happy with the sound. And this even before I've deadened my doors.

what i don't get is, while they are obviously a quality product, why so little info and promotion?
you'd think with this level of care in production, someone would have an interest in promoting them. They deserve to be more recognized and legitimized. Odd business plan.

^ meh, maybe. Basically FS wanted a good sounding speaker that they have exclusive rights to and most often, in that sales environment, nobody is going to look too closely at the technical details :dunno:

I'm just happy these actually DO sound decent compared to the Quest experiment of a few years back :barf:

godzilla1978 09-17-2008 07:53 AM

if you find the thiele small let me cause we got 2 waiting for boxes as well. We had them in a box that was almost 5 cu and they sounded great but we sold the box and now we're going to split them up but lost the stats and can't remember where we got them from!:dunno:
