engie noise
ok I just got my set-up reinstalled in my car.
and I got engine whine.
it's only in my back speakers. I have 2 amps one kicker for my subs and 1 kicker 4 ch for my speakers. now when I change the RCA on the 4 ch. The sound stays with the RCA's not the speakers so that leads me to believe that is the problem. but my question is...B4 I had an alpine amp and had no problem with engine whine. should I put the alpine 4 ch back in instead of the kicker? or do i have to replace the RCA cable. I'm not a big fan on taking my car all appart to replace them.. I want that to be alast ditch effort...any other suggestions? can I get a ground loop isolator? will that help? or what???? please help the sound is driving me insane... and engine whine means to me...a whine that changes with RPM.

double check the routing of the rca cables close to the amp, i've found that just moving them a couple of inches away from the power wires can totally get rid of noise. Remember different amps have different noise suppressing technology. My new rockfords are amazing at rejecting noise compared to my old sonys. Just move them around a bit and see if that helps. I usually try to keep the rca cables at least 6" away from the power wires. On a side note I've found that din cables and Alpine ai-net cables seem to be immune to noise as they have been run over top of the power cables and along the side of them with absolutely no noise.
Check your grounds on your amp....measure them with a DMM. Your amp may be finding ground referance through your RCAs.
Secondly use a half decent twisted pair with shielding RCA.

well let me explain a bit more sorry...The HU has 3 sets of RDC coming from it. one for front, rear and subs. only the rear RCA's are causing the problem. Is that still a ground issue with my HU or ground with the amp. after all the front goes in the same amp and no problem with the front stage.
