I think (IN MY OPINION ONLY) that a lot depends on the customer as well. Now before I continue Tragic, you damnwell know I'm not talking about you, just making a point...if a customer goes in and trys to chisel down to the last nickel, wants extras for free, etc, then I dont think anybody thats normal is going to go that extra mile for him.

On the other hand, if a guy walks in and says "hey, I have XXX to spend and thats all she wrote" I would respect that. Than as an owner its up to me as to whether I can do a good job for that price.

If I brought another car to Davis would I expect a break? Yes.

Would I expect the SAME price as this one time deal? No, not a chance. It would be a scumbag move to even try.

Anyway Tragic, I'm just trying to give you my opinion of the man. He's one of those non excitable, calm types, but hes also a business owner so hes been around the block a few times

Hey John Im pretty sure im getting the same alarm installed by them on the 9th although i walked in to get some questions answered. Witch is unfortunate that he couldnt because he was busy with some camera thing ( from what i could gather ) Anyways. I'm still going on the ninth im gonna ask a lot of questions to make sure this is what i need. I'm glad u posted this though, becuase i was considering going elsewhere. It sounds worth it. Dont get me wrong i shoulda spoken up before making an appt. But he was busy. Im just that type of kid.

Im very excited tho. How are you liking your alarm so far? Fun? lol Is it weird that i get my rocks off to an alarm install! :P

It doesn't matter to me if it's your equipment or mine, I will give your car the same attention as I would with any customer. Customer service is important to me. I guarantee you wll be happy with our installation services.

Weman yes I was a little busy but if you have any questions just ask and I will answer you as best I can.

Thanks
Davis

Oh, same here Dont forget that whoever he was on the phone to (or whatever) is also a customer. If he hangs up on him to take care of you.....well, you get it I'm sure.

OK ALARM TIP: All the extra, neat, cool additions are extra for the modules & labor and such. I didnt even realize that until I started researching things. I actually asked about one just assuming it was included in the box, but its like buying a new car. Extras cost money, both for the hardware and time.

Your first impression might be " Oh, hes trying to burn me" but that aint the case. Now anyone who is familiar with alarms knows this I guess and is currently chuckling at me , but if youre "new" then you dont know right?

He told me I'd love it, and I do. Now I want more Theres a boatload of cool you can add on. You'll see

John

OK, the model number is 902. Python 902.

I went to take some pics, but there really is nothing to see. A siren on the firewall, a blue LED inside, and a small antenna behind my rearview. I think the brain is under the dash but in this sloppy weather I'm not crawling on my floormats to check

The add-ons I want are: Auto lights on/off at dusk.
Glass break sensor.
Probably remote start.

Dunno (yet) what pricing will be, but nothing says I have to do it all at once.

Have fun with it man!

Thanks for the positive posting.
We tend not to appreciate people enough when things go well, os thanks for going the extra mile and making note of that!
Perhaps we should all take time to mention something that has gone well for us.

This is probably against site rules to promote a non-supporting business, but I just want to say that the guys at Base Electronics in Welland are awesome! They know their stuff. They respect their customers (ie they are not condescending) and they have taken plenty of time to talk me through stuff in my install . . . and at the time I hadn't purchased anything from them yet. Because of that, I bought my wire upgrades from them, even though I could have gotten them cheaper at a big box store. And when spring rolls around and I'll sound deaden my doors, I will buy from them (and perhaps get them to install it too to save myself the trouble)!

Hats off to good businesses! Keep up the good work!

DLS Ultimate A5 3-channel amp (from Zotman), MB Quart Premium 6.5" components (from MR2NR, though these are still on lay-away), sound dampening on the doors, and most of the necessary wiring (from Knukonceptz). The Kenwood deck has already been installed.

Glad to hear you had good experience. This is what places need to achieve in order to get more/return business.
Come on already, Magic! When are you going to get that gear in?

Sasha, I was laid off for the first 3 weeks of January. So I need to do a little catching up first. I'll be doing my final transaction with MR2NR this Friday, so should have those MBQ's by sometime next week.

I'm not as in much of a hurry with this system since its not mine. lol I think I'm trying to avoid the jealousy I'm going to feel when her system blows mine out of the water.
