First time car audio help pls
 

The system will be in a 2001 Honda Civic LX. I'd like to keep it as cheap as possible, preferably around $400 max. I'm mainly looking for all around good sounding music. I prefer to not use too much trunk space as I am currently attending college and need the space for hauling stuff back and forth from home. I listen to all kinds of music, but more punk rock than anything.

I received a pair of speakers for the rear deck, an amp, and a sub for free, so I'd prefer not to buy anything here but if anything is inadequate please let me know. I'll list links to them here..

I've been looking into component speakers for the front doors. I just randomly picked 4 sets based on the price, any feedback or recommendations on these would be appreciated as well.

Any help would be greatly appreciated! Wiring advice would be helpful too, like if I should only power the sub with the amp or if I'd be able to power other speakers as well or using the outputs from the head unit to get more power to the other speakers. Sounds to me like you are just looking for a lil bump thats sounds decent. The equipment you have, paired with the Pioneer or JVC unit will be fine. Keep it simple. Most guys on here a pretty hardcore about their sound and it doesn't seem to me that you fall in that category. Fosgate Primes you listed are a great budget friendly set. You will however require a small Monoblock amp for your sub if you want to optimize it's worth. If you are not familiar with wiring up even a small system, my advice is to have it done professionally. You will save a ton of time and headache as well as money in the long run in case you screw something up or break it. Hope that helps a bit.
