foam?
I just want to ask what gives by putting foam inside enclosure? I have special foam for subs, but I dont know if I should really put it in makes it sound better.

If you mean polyfill then the idea is that it makes the box appear a bit 'bigger' to the sub. :smilie_da
|
i shoulda remov it then, cuz the box is already big enough

really 2 things here
You can put polyester fiberfill (stuff thats in pillows) in an enclosure. It reduces the sound velocity in the box and makes it look bigger to the sub If the box is too big, you can reduce the volume by putting styrofoam in it. It is light and hard to compress. Use the l extruded stuff used for home insulation because you dont want the cheap white stuff to come all apart in little pieces an stick to everything! |
foam or polyfill or what have you, can also kill distortion...

Where's your formulas and test data? Sounds like heresay and conjecture so far. :eyes:

it should not be a fetch to understand that harmonics caused by distortion can stand inside a box.......
