Focal speakers, good choice?

Just wondering any reviews on focal speakers, specifically 1600w 80 rms. not sure what it's called. Just wondering if anyone would think it's be worth it to get those since I don't really feel like paying for type x's

At the price you can get Type X speakers now, they are better bang for the buck than Focal. If you get the lower end Focal, cause they are cheaper than Alpine, they are going to be pure garbage, cause I think you may be referring to Focal Access line. Just think about it this way, if you dont feel like paying money where it matters most, then dont expect good sound. You are putting a price on your ears.

Not sure what the model is but they retail for 650-670$ and are 160w max or something and output at 80 rms

focal or hertz

I'm still deciding between the Focal Polyglass 165 vr's or the Hertz Hi-Energy HSK 165's. I've heard them against the lower models in their respective lines but not against each other in the same store. Outside chance I may spring for Morel Dotech's in front and Tempo's in rear doors if I can get the Dotechs down closer to $400 from current $500 quoted.

2 weeks to decide then I will pull the trigger on something. The Hertz product will end up being the most expensive due to the installtion cost assoiated with that shop. Morels will be about $150 less installed and the Focals with 130 CA1 in rear doors will be about $200 less than Hertz. The Hertz setup would have Energy 5 1/4 in rear doors. All setups will be driven by a JL Audio 6-Channel amp.:dunno:

very nice! Ya, there are other options besides focal but I still think they make a very good speaker depending on the model
