Iam planning my front stage and can't decide what to do. I have an amp that can push 250RMSx2 @ 1ohm and was thinking about using a DVC 10" with 2 6.5's per side....

Problem is that all the speakers will be getting the same signal, which isn't very ideal from a SQ standpoint. Better the 10 is mid-bass and the 6.5's for everything else.....

I can build X-overs no prob, but then nom. impedance on the amp is going to be around 2ohms and I won't get all the power I want....

I think I should just buy 2 new amps ????

(my other option is a 3way component system with the 10" a 6.5" and a 3" bullet tweeter too, BTW)

This will be a better idea.

How will a 1ohm signal sound? I suppose it depends on the quality of the signal...

Just my 2 cents but how about a 8", 5.25" (or 4") 1" combo -- the 8 will give you lots of lower to mid bass -- the 5.25 (or 4") will give you excellent mid to upper mid and you still get a 1" that give you great imaging...

^if you have a 4 ohm 10" running midbass, and a 4 ohm 6.5" running midrange, parallel through an x-over, the final impedance is still nom 4 ohms.

At 1 Ohm the quality of the input signal will be irrelevant for Sound Quality.
It'll sound like CRRRAP no matter how clean the signal is.

BTW I think that at 1 ohm the "front stage" will be more like an in your face bitch-slap .

Right now thats pretty close to what I have..10 6 2 set...awesome. I dont use a sub because it sounds pretty good as is.

Impendence has very little impact on sound quality. Many highly regarded home audio speakers are of low impendence. You cannot say that a 8ohm speaker will sound better than a 4ohm.
