gain question

if i turn down the gain on a saz2000d to about half, will that mean that its going to draw as much power from my alternator and batt as a 1000d would? probably a stupid question but im not %100 sure so might as well ask.

No.
The gain is to match the voltage form the deck, you can't control power output that way.

Basically you could have your gains at zero and still get full power from your amp if your deck has enough pre-out voltage.

Same thing... if your gain is at max now... it's most likely not set up right, you almost never need to have the gain at max to get full power. Max gain = not setup right.

No, it only means you will have to turn your volume knob a little farther to reach full output.

lol that is a stupid question, no offence tho. more of a funny stupid, not stupid stupid.

gain is only there to compensate for volume/input voltage. that is all.

so my alternator is 12 volts 110 amps. am i gonna fry my alternator if i only have 1beefed up battery in the front? how long u think my electrical would last if i didnt bump it too hard

Father Yuli 03-20-2010 05:50 PM

forever.

the electrical wouldnt break. your amp might.

DnK 03-20-2010 06:06 PM

so what would be a good amount of amps on the alternator to make my amplifier more reliable in my case. or just what would be the minimum amperage and batts to make the amplifier pretty reliable?and do you guys know any high output alternaots that wont break the bank too much. would a yellowtop or redtop be okay for the front? and what would be a good small battery for the back?

lots of questions but i just wanna do this right. im basically rebuilding my whole car, motor, paint, suspension and im just trying to sqeeze the last bit of money into the sytem

check your local alternator shop. (yellow pages)

you would also need some good, thick wire, proper grounding as well.

you dont really want to mix and match batteries. should be same if you have more than one.

DnK 03-20-2010 07:46 PM

so by mix and match do you mean keep them the same company or do they need to have the same amount of cca

CrazyKenKid 03-20-2010 09:23 PM

he means keep the same company/ brand names.
(i hope lol)
