Gauging interest in a group buy for an Iraggi HO alt.

Hello all, I'm talking to a reputed company about setting up a group buy for this site as well as caraudio.com's forum. I'm just trying to gauge interest in such a deal. I'll let everyone know more as soon as I get more information on what kind of a deal we could get set up from Iraggi. From what I have seen his deals are very good and comes highly recommended.

I am loving your set up. Let us know when you get the Fi sub/s, and chime in with the review. I am also looking for a deal on a black SXRC.

Thanks, I'm still thinking about what sub to get. I'm trying to decide between the Q and an Ascendant Audio Havoc. First thing first though, found I desperately need the HO alt. as I've got serious dimming even with the amp at two ohms and 700 watts. I can imagine how bad it would be at 1400 watts.

The SXRC is great, it makes tuning the amps so easy being able to sit in the drivers seat and not have to go back and forth.

I assume you have at least 2-gauge power and ground wire. If you haven't done yet, you should do the "Big 3" upgrade, or at least add another big gauge wire to your battery negative post, and ground it to the frame with surface nicely scratched off underneath the attachment. This will help with your dimming a lot, and will give more power to your amps.

My friend has SX900.4 and KX2500.1. He upgraded his negative ground on the battery as I told you, and he gets almost no dimming, even when blasting it hard. 0-gauge wire. He has no caps either. I think his alt is around 120A.

I've honestly heard too many negative things about Dom over on Termpro to consider dealing with him.

His alts are supposed to be very solid but I've heard a tonne of mixed reviews about his service.

I got mine last night. 240A for my 1.8 golf. Most likely going to hook it up tonight..we'll see how it goes.
As for the pricing? he gave me four options for my engine.
180 - $380
200 - 400
220 - 420
240 - 440.

I just gave him the numbers off of my stock alt and he went from there.
I had a response out of him a day after I had emailed him, and that was in the middle of Finals, so I'm sure that he was busy, but he still had time to reply. I ordered and paid for it on the 24th and it got here on the 5th. It was sent ups and it was shipped quite nicely, double boxed with lots of padding. So far I can't complain about that, so it's just how it's going to hold up. Again, we'll see how it goes.

zzzzzzzz gave me a link to Team Shadow Enterprises in Surry BC perhaps that might be another option they will warrenty alt for 1 year. Was origionaly going to talk to Ohio Generator but when i phoned they are at SEMA in Vegas so was not able to get price. I think Team Shadow are on this board so perhaps they could set somthing up as far as group buy.

I've heard good things and bad things about DOM. I am not looking for a HO alt so I don't mean to jack your pole, but being from Canada have you ever looked in to Rob VO? Not sure if he still does the Alt thing but he made me one that many people said was impossible to build. Good service, decently fast shipping, and at that time, it was WAY better pricing than anywhere else I could find.

Not sure how it would stack up now with the bad American Dollar and AWESOME Canadian Dollar :) LOL but that's worth a shot.

Just another option,

Good luck,

Craig G

Please please do chime in and let us know if it was a direct swap without problems, and how your 1.8 took the extra heavy duty alt i.e. loss of horse power, etc. I need to know, as i have 2000 2.0 Golf, and considering HO alt, but do not want to have to do mods to fasten it.

This is a quote off the Steve Meade forum, maybe it helps explain a bit why some of his service has been slow :dunno:

i'm an hour 20 mins from DOm he is a good guy but his work load is very very high. He was for a while doing all the builds himself on top of answering the phone calls and answering emails. shipping out alts as well. his work is solid and i trust it above any other. Service usually takes a little bit but worth the wait

Anyways I emailed him last night about the chances of a group buy. His response was that he would be willing to do one, 25% off with a minimum of 15 people. I've sent him another question as well about if that discount would apply to his Lifetime warranty and a couple other questions.

Lifetime Warranty

Alternator is warranted against manufacturer defects or failure for a period of twelve months. The first claim after 12 months is covered free of charge. Additional claims have a flat fee of $99.99.

Exchange Program

In the event you purchase a new vehicle, your current Iraggi Alternator can be exchanged for a brand new model that directly fits your new vehicle. The first exchange for an equal or lesser value unit is covered free of charge. If the new unit exceeds original purchase price, the difference in value is charged. Additional exchanges have a flat fee of $99.99. If the new unit is of lesser value, the difference is deducted from the flat fee. (Up to $99.99) If the new unit exceeds original purchase price, the difference in value is charged.

Which to me looks like a good deal, as a point of reference an similar EA amp is about $40 more in their group buy for my car.

As fo Mean green, I have heard good things about them, but I have e-mailed them 5 times over a couple months and never heard back from them. Dom replied by 10:30 mountain time the next day.
