genexxa amp

i aquired a genexxa bridgable high power amplifier (it said it not me) and it doesn't tell me about it except its 170 watts and i canot find a web site that will tell me anything about it .

the amp says , (top) GENEXXA bridgeable high power amplifier
170 watt stereo amplifier . mosfet power supply

(bottom) Genexxa
model no 12-1967
stereo power amplifier
dc 12v negative ground
manufactured in taiwan , imported
for/import pour

any help that can be provided would be most welcome , basically i just want to know if its 4 ohms or 2ohms (im pretty sure its 4)

also maybe this is a silly question but the rca's say low input and the wire inputs say high input , wud up with that .

it also has two 30 amp fuses if that helps

where it says high inputs that is for a factory stereo system with no rca's that you wire into the speaker wire output to send signal to the amp like rca's do :) Why did you buy a genexxa amp hehe! I have a couple decent amps here for cheap price if you want soemthing , an orion cobalt 702 that puts out 280 rms into a 4 ohm load...: )

genexxa?! that sounds like one of the newer radioshack generic brands..... probably made by Tandy ?! (panisonic)

at first Id think crap... but if it has 2 30A fuses that seems promising... (may be for 300-400RMS!) I doubt you'll find much info though; so just use it if it works.....!

as far as load stability.... Id agree 4ohms mono 2ohm stereo and no less....

i don't beleive it is a cheep amp , and i didn't pay for it , my friend gave it to me when i bought a 12 infinity kappa perfect off him , he didn't know anyhting about it eather

the most i have been able to find on genexxa is this

Genexxa högtalare - Kvalitéts högtalare från Sverige

so 4ohm mono and 2 ohm stereo ? is there a way to test it aside from putting speakers on it and seeing if they get cooked?

i really just want my new 12 to work and i have this amp lying around im in the middle of an engine swap /axle swap/ transfercase swap in my jeep so im trying not to spend any money . i will just run 1 gage wire to it cuz i have a bunch and then later put in a better amp , i just don't want to blow up my sub , by running 2 ohms in it or some .

how should i hook it up ? its to 1 12" infinity kappa perfect i believe , i will take a picture of it tomorrow and see if some one can conform that , (i can't get it out of the box)

so like just put it to the sub on mono ? i don't expect it to pound with this little amp and don't care it will do more then my door speakers .

btw can you buy one speaker at a store ? i have one rockford fanatic 120 watt 4 ohm 5 1/4 with a tweeter in it and was wondering if i could just buy another and put the mismatched speakers on the same amp .

im pretty sure this is my sub http://www.futureshop.ca/catalog/pro...000FS11432121#

Im a longtime Manager of Intertan stores.. (The Source,Rogers Plus and Battery Plus)
genexxa is an older RadioShack/Intertan amp.. some of the older stuff genexxa/realistic stuff actually wasnt "that" bad.. id put it above brands like jensen.. but you can still do much better with a more mainstream amp

Brad The Best 02-04-2007 01:48 AM

this one is definutly older , like atleast 5 years old . i dont care if its , its old free and works . all that matters , i will buy a good amp when my friend gets one to sell to me . all i want to know is if i hook this thing up to my sub in mono will it wreck the sub . thank you
