What do you guys think the best configuration for two JL 10W0-4's would be?

Best power (amount of power and/or brand/model of a specific amp), best type of box, etc.

Wanting to get the best I can out of these sub's.

Thanks

The pair should be able to handle in excess of 400wRMS depending on the box...

Personally I think the best configuration would be in someone elses vehicle so you can trade up for 15's... :D

hehe

Yah I want to go bigger as well, but for right now I want to just get the most out of these. If anything when I upgrade my amp I will get enough power to run bigger subs in the future.

2.5 - 2.75 cubic feet tuned around 30hz should be nice. That amp should push about 250-275 watts to the subs, you wouldn't gain a whole lot going to a 400-500 watt amp I don't think. If anything, pick up a line driver that will boost the signal out of your deck, so we can drop the gains on the amp and run it a bit cleaner.

with that amp... how do calculate how much power is going to what speakers?

A line driver for a pair of 10W0s ??? I can see where that money could be better spent ;)

I'd use a smaller enclosure tuned higher ... ~2 ft^3 tuned to 32 Hz ...

Do you know what deck he is running...... mmm no.

I'd only worry about a line driver if you had noise issues...

Jmac 12-17-2004 02:23 PM

What is he running ? I wouldn't think the voltage would be that low to require a line driver since almost every unit out in the last 5 years has been at least 1.8 volts ...
