good amp to power 2 infinity perfect 12 subs??
 

anyone know wut amp would be good to power 2 infinity perfect 12DVQ subs effectively and efficiently??
wired in parallel or series??

I'm running mine of a older rockford power 1000 amp. Powers them perfectly, at 1000w rms at a 2 Ohm load.

Sweet subs! Giving them around 1k watts would not be a problem.

asuming they're dual 4 ohm, try an Audison LRX1.1K

yea i don't have em yet.. and probably won't for a while.. but i got a free Phoenix Gold QX12 sub from a friend and now am looking for an amp i can use for both applications...

Yeah, for that you need to know configurations for both set ups, then you can work from there.

well if i got a 600W RMS amp and wired the infinity's in parallel and bridged it so i would be feeding the infinity's 1200W and then for now use it unbridged at 600W for my single sub..
the sub i have now is 400W RMS at 4ohm... would that work??

I suggest you do a little bit of online research and learning, as it might be hard to start from scratch and explain how everything works, cause judging from what you wrote ^^^ you need to get some basic knowledge first, unless the whole thing is a typo.

Basicly, you need to know exactly the ohm configuration of the Perfects, and the PG sub, and there will likely be several ways of wiring both sets. Then you need to look at the amp, and see if you want a monoblock, or a 2-channel amp. I suggest getting a monoblock that is stable at 1 ohm for more configuration freedom. Some 2-channel amps cannot be wired bridged to 2 ohms, but only to 4 ohms, but those amps could take 2 ohm load in stereo mode, and needless to say 2-channel amps normally don't drop down to 1 ohm. Also, look at the amp power output at different loads(1-2-4 ohms). By the way, subs are not rated power/ohms, just power handling of the coil, period. If you still need help, at least mention the sub/s specs(is it dual or single voice coil, how many ohms), and someone will surely help you with wiring options, and what type of amp is suitable.

k.. i'll do some research tomorrow at school.. and ya i'm still a newbie at this.. the sub that i have now is dual voice coil Pheonix Gold QX12 and i can't find any specs on it anywhere at all.. the guy i got it from said it was rated at 400W RMS.. and it says 4ohm on the magnet... so ya..
like i got my car and found some speakers in my garage and put em in.. then bought a pioneer deck form F-shop and got the wiring harness and mounting bracket.. my step dad sodered all the wires together and it works pretty good.. and i got a free sub.. bin doin some research but haven't rilly found a good newbie starter page to learn from.. but i'll go to wikipedia tomorrow..

This PG sub can be wired to work at 2 ohms, or 8 ohms. Noone really runs their stuff at 8 ohms, so your only option is to run it at 2, which is good. Try to look for a monoblock amp, which puts out full power at 2 ohms, which for most part means it should not be stable at 1 ohm. I am not a big fan of running sub/s at 1 ohms anyways, if you are looking for good sound quality. Try to find an amp putting out 750-1000 watts rms at 2 ohms. Now, if you wanna use the same amp when you get two Perfects, you have to make sure they are dual voice coil 2 ohms. You can bridge them, and show your amp a 2 ohm load. If the Perfects only come in dual 4 ohms, then you will need a monoblock, which is stable at 1 ohm. But it may have to be a big size amp. Not sure about your size restrictions. But in this case you would buy a serious amp right away, which will make you very happy for a long time. Don't worry about overpowering the subs. No such thing as too much power, just tune it correctly, and use your system wisely. Overhead is good.

P.S. Choosing the correct enclosure/box to the specs of the subs makes a world of difference. You can always google the specs, and recommended enclosure sizes. Sealed vs ported box is another option. Perfects have a very high potential to sound incredible, and two of them will give you a serious punch.
