I'm looking to add a sub/amp combo to my little corolla soon... but I'm not willing to give up lots of trunk room.
Can anyone tell me what sub takes the smallest box... but i still want good sound. thanks |
i have a 96 corrolla, and i had a 12" brahma in the trunk in a smaller box, 1.4cubic feet sealed or so, and it was loud as hell off of my hifonics bx1000d. if you want a sub that goes in small boxes, and still sounds amazing, brahma would be a very good choice i think.

avi sls250. .5 cubic foot sealed box. sub will hammer you'll love it. and an alpine mrpm350 to run it. wicked little amp basically the m301 without the digital front end and very sexy cause you can run it line level or speaker level so you can make it work with any kinda system. if u want prices on stuff pm me.

1.4 cubes isn't small . . .
If you are willing to give up that much space, go with an Infinity Kappa Perfect 10" and port it. It has a high Sensitivity (SPL - 94 db) and it has very deep low-end extension. How small are you looking? |
It depends greatly on what exactly you want your system to do.
Do you want it to be as loud as possible without losing too much trunk or are you just looking to accurately cover the lower octaves in your sound? |

You can try a Kaption pro 10" . Fits in .6 cu. Use some dacron to help standing waves. Then Thump goes your corolla !

Most 10" subs these days will work well in .6-.8 cubes sealed. What kind of music do you listen to?

The JL W6 woofers sound excellent in a small enclosure.. Check their webiste for options in terms of required volume, or look at their prefab enclosures.

X2 on the Jl's. I am running a pair of 10W0's in .75 cubes sealed per sub, and am very happy with the sound, but then I am into SQ more than SPL.
