hmm i was told it was a sick deal. I am new to all this stuff, and dont want to get ripped or anything. i am looking to spend about 1k to 1700 Canadian, on a system. i am running all factory in my g6. any ideas on what i need or like what i should get first?
i was told get the sub and amp first then get it wired into my factory deck, then later on get a deck/new speakers?? Any help would be great. i have been to best buy and like future shop and it seems like they just try and sell me anything they can to me. Any stores you would recommend in Calgary or what i should get that would fit in my budget. is that deal i said any good or just way overpriced? cause i want something that will pound good. Thanks |
I would suggest doing some more homework on car audio before tossing down that kind of dosh.
I would also recommend changing your HU and main speakers and amping your main speakers before adding a big bottom end that is just going to overpower your factory speakers. |
ok well maybe i will get a new deck first, like a 300 buck one, but on my g6 i have to buy a special kit, because all my computer stuff is in my factory deck:(, then i should get new speakers and a amp to power the speakers? then after that get a sub and another amp?? how would it sound if i got what i said above, with my factory speakers (which are quite good i must say) and get it wired into my factory deck?
i am still deciding, just got to figure out what i said on my first post is a good deal or now |
Take this a step at a time. Get a good cd player, one that you can fully expand the system with in the future. What kind of output are you looking for on the sub system? If it is massive bass response, then yes a amplifier on the front and rear speakers + better speakers is going to be a must right from the word go.
Rear speakers are the least important, get a good speaker not a super top notch one. Invest in nice front component speakers, they are the most important speakers in the car. If you build the system properly, they can play off the cd player for now and then you can expand and add a amp to them at a later date. The bigger you go on that sub, the bigger you need to go everywhere else, from wiring to power supply to other speakers. Keep things in check here. Come up with some goals and then a system can be designed to achieve them. |
keep the factory deck and get an audiocontrol lc6 or rockford 360 or a jl cleansweep either of those will allow you to add amps to your existing factory stereo without compromising sound quality
|
I was going to recommend that as well but by the time he is done with it, a little more on the investment is going to yield far better results for him with a cd player that can be expanded on far simpler with better tonal results in the long run.
