^Components in front, coax in rear is a common setup. Components come with passive crossovers, so are still run off one power input and the frequencies are split in the crossover with outputs for woofer and tweeter. Modifications to tweeter locations are to be expected in comp Installs. I believe the tweeter is on the dash near the corners of the windshield in those cars? Try the tweeter afew places, including closer to the woofer before permanently mounting them.
Components should (really all speakers Should) be run off a separate amp but efficient speakers will work fine off deck power til u upgrade to a 4 channel. Alpine's type s components can be had at a decent price and work well off deck power. The type r are nicer with more midbass but are geared toward being amp driven.

I understand how hard it is to audition speakers when so many aren't available locally.
I would suggest doing some more reading on here, diymobileaudio.com and caraudio.com.
If you're trying to keep the cost low you might want to consider buying used gear. Its worked for me for years. Every piece in my setups is used and works pefectly. I have about $1600 in my setup including navi head unit.

if you want a really good set of components for cheap, frab a set or 2 of the phoenix gold rsd65cs from woofersetc. They are 99.00 a set and have had rave reviews for the last 5 years. I've listened to many sets 3x more money and they were comparable overall but the PG had more midbass. Definitely a best buy and great for Rock and R&B. here's a link:
