Got my new headunit and sub... which amp?

I got my new Eclipse AVN726E this week! I can hardly wait until I get it installed. I got my JL 12W3v3-2 sub today. I'm going to make a sealed enclosure using JL's recommended dimensions with a modified front plate which will be sealed to the rear seat pass through, with the sub facing forward into the back of the rear seat so the pressure is in the cabin and not in the trunk. I'm looking for SQ, not SPL. I'm looking for a 5 channel amp and am thinking of either an Alpine PDX-5 or a Soundstream LW5-1000. I currently have a set of Premier 4 ohm components for the front and Infinity 2 ohm 6x9's for the rear. I do want to upgrade my fronts, but will have to save for a bit before I get them. Thinking of Morels, but will post closer to the time to get input. Does anyone have any input on the Alpine or Soundstream amps (or any other suggestions)? BTW, although I was tempted to buy State side, I bought locally to support our retailers and ended up with a great deal! Check your local suppliers, they deserve your business! I got the Eclipse h/u cheaper CDN than U.S. ($1200)

I have done a couple of installs with the Soundstream 5 channel and it has proven to be a fine amplifier.

Rob.... do you recall the birthsheet on either of these?

i have not used the PDX 5 in my car, but I have multiple other PDX series amps in my car. (4.150, and 1.1000).

as an overall package, i have yet to come across another amp series to match them. sure there are more powerful amps etc, but nothing else combines the SQ, power, build quality, looks, convenience, that these amps do.
these amps provide same power at 2 and 4ohms, so your applications are unlimited, they boast a tiny tiny footprint, and they are stackable. so you can fit them almost anywhere. (i have mine stacked, and have never once had an issue with overheating, even when playing for hours on end).

my favourite part, Efficiency. they don't put a huge strain on your electrical system like some other amps.
i would not hesitate for a second to buy another pdx series amp.
the only thing i personally think isn't quite up to par, is the crossovers. ...but i never used them anywyas since my deck had up to 24db , adjustable gain, front rear sub etc.

btw -on all of the birthsheets, they are a fair bit higher than rated. my 1.1000 is 1168watts RMS x1 at 4ohms @ 14.4 V, and the 4.150 is 159watts RMS x4 at 4ohms @ 14.4V

as far as the soundstream amp, i have never used them, so I can't comment on them. isn't sound stream power acoustiks nowadays??

No birthsheets are supplied on the Soundstream amplifiers, too bad.
