Great DVD-A / SACD Decks?

I want to get a new deck for my car and really want one that plays dvd-a and sacd, is there one that plays both? I love DVD-A but they are becoming harder and harder to find. Deep Purples Machine Head sounds incredible on this new format. Any help would be appreciated....not much online about these decks.

i don't know any that play both. To get true dvd-a...not 2 ch mixdown... you must go very high end. Look at Alpine f#1, top of the line Kenwood, and I know Pioneer use to have models that played them...not sure if they still do. I said it a couple of years ago, the manufacturers went about it the wrong way and have essentially killed dvd-a and sacd. The players were too expensive initially, and there weren't enough titles to entice customers to go with it. Between that, and the lack of direction in the industry to accept one or the other, has caused both to fail or at least stagnate. Even Alpine seems to be going another route now with the Imprint set up, which seems to be geared towards a 4.1 system...front l+r, rear l+r, and a sub. I always said that they should have come out with a few players in the 400-500 range that played dvd-a/sacd to get them in the cars and get the ball rolling. I'm looking into imprint now, but i still love the surround set up....you never know, it might catch on at some point.

DVD-A and SACD are based on two different types of D/A conversion so you won't find a player that does both. DVD-A is generally considered to be the supperior format so I'd go that route before SACD.

My HT reciever is SACD, but I don't think I've ever seen any albums I own or would want to own even produced in SACD ?!?! :ohwell:
