Head Unit Suggestions

I need help finding a decent new HU. Right now I`ve got an old school Eclipse 5506 which works well, but is really dated.

I`m looking for something with USB/AUX inputs, Blue Tooth, etc. thats single DIN. But I want something that sounds as good or better than my 5506 with it's copper chassis and 8V preouts.

I really like the new Eclipse 7200mk11, but the display sucks. Same with Kenwood and Pioneers top end.

Honestly I'm really disapointed in how they're building HU's now, they have put on these massive goddy control ***** that take up 1/3rd of the front panel and then have these tiny displays. What's the point of making it super easy to control, if you have to squint to see the display?

Is there anything else out there, or am I just going to have to settle?

well it depends on what your going for...SQ or aesthetics? those listed ones have better SQ and yes are lower on the looks side.

I'm hardly an expert in this dept. but if Joe 'Lethal' Johnson(my installer) tells me the 7200ii is a great deck, i'll take it to the bank(he sells alpine fyi). talk to MR2NR and see what he says, he deals in many high end units. if nothing else for rec's. he deals with all of those brands.

Well, back in the day you could have both SQ and asthetics. However costs have gone down over the last 10 years.

I've looked over all the top brands and nothing comes close to the Eclipse really in any department. Maybe a bit in asthetics but as for features, control and build they pretty much got it in the bag.

Its gonna be a hard choice.
