34 for the year and 8 failed, I would be looking somewhere else to find the real problem. These cd players are coming from the same place I buy mine from if he is a authorized dealer. I sell at least 34 in a two month period here and my failure rate on new units is 2 for this years models to date. I have zero issues with the reliability aspect of their units and as a matter of fact with the 3 year warranty from Eclipse, it is peace of mind for the customer.

I'll have to watch my current batch of CD4000's that just came in, I just received another 15 as the first ones sold out in just under 2 weeks.

yeah your right must be the installers, or the harness adaptors, with eclipses glowing track record, that must explain it i suppose, the 3 year warranty is piece of mind for your customers, because when it breaks 3 times in that span, they are covered, the ultimate negative sell, nice

If you are going to spurt crap out of your mouth that you have zero basis to make a educated and informed decision upon, please at least give us all a towel to clean up with first.

Do you work for this authorized dealer? If not then this person can tell you whatever they like. If I had a 20% failure rate as a dealer I would not be carrying the line anymore and I sure would have made every other dealer that carries the line aware of the issues at hand. Why is it that I have not heard of these issues nor any other dealer has them? I noticed that the Eclipse tech rep and my sales rep was also just reading this thread. I'm sure he got a laugh out of this as well. I'm also sure he can verify my number of RA's for bad units vs. your friends shops claim. I cannot think of any line in the last 15 years that has had a 20% or more failure rate on their head units as you and your freind are claiming. That leaves some wide open holes that a truck can drive through and smear that claim all over the windscreen. Personal agenda, heck no, dispelling a myth, definitely.

are you joking, the very line were talking about has had one of the worst failure rates of any head unit line out there over the last 7 or 8 years the fact that your try to convince people that its in the past is laffable, even given the facts from an authorized dealer on current models, give your head a shake, and i assure you the numbers i told you are indeed fact. james know who i am and the dealer im refering to, and he knows the problems hes had, if he denies it so be it

I see you have met the energizer bunny. What basis are you making your claims on now? Still on the basis of your friends word? Maybe his rates of failure are that high and that is why he should perhaps be looking a little closer to home to see if there is anything they are doing wrong. That is what any good shop would do. A 20% failure rate, dude, that is just way out of line with reality.
