Personaly I use, and will never use anything but Pioneer!
They have by far the best display of all decks. Plus all the fetures I look for. I have had good luck with deck life also. I allways buy extended warrenty but have never needed to use it.
Other than Pioneer I go for either Alpine or Clarion, but like I said before Pioneer all the way.

ok pioneer, i am looking for someithng that will play mp3s but looks good while doing it. lol i dont want to pay to much but i want the headunit to be able to handle better equipment down the line once i upgrade. does anybody have and units that meet my descriptions?? i am just overwhelmed right now with all the choices so trying to narrow it down. thanks again
There are a great deal of good head units out there right now....
Alpine, Pioneer and Clarion are great bets , and a couple of the new Sony models even look good this year.
I hear JVC has some good models as well.
Personal preferance on cosmetics and budget will probably be the determining factor in your choice.

as i can see every one like's pioneer, don't get me worng thier a good cheap company, but try taking a look at clarion, they have thier new line of deck's out and you can record cd's right on to the deck to listen to. Making Cd changers alomsot non exsistant.
hmmm im thinking maybe sticking with a pioneer seriously looking at maybe the deh-p400mp was going to buy panasonic but i dont really like their look anymore. the clarion is nice but the cd catcher feature is alittle to expensive for what i am looking at. besides im just going to throw on an mp3 cd anyways so im good so does anybody have any of these pioneer decks, likes dislikes please and if somebody else has a different opinion please voice it dont want to get stuck with something if theres a better own out there for me you guys rule (new to forum if didnt notice)
I've have Sony, Pioneer then Alpine in that order and I would go back to Pioneer if I found some money....The Alpine did sound crisper but wasn't a fan of having the Sub-out gains cranked to +15 to get it work decent not much control was had in that aspect. Kenwood I suppose makes some nice stuff, however I am not a Kenwood fan...
okay i was wondering if the sub control was worth getting, cause i wasnt all that horny about getting an alpine but everybody was saying i should. lol sorry for all the noob questions people, but i am a noob so it comes with the territory
