Helix vs Rainbow

Whats up guys I'm new here anyways need some imput I'm in the market for a new 4ch and its a toss up Rainbow iPaul 4.300 90x4 bench tested 125x4 rms but I dont know how that compares to the Helix line up DB-Esprit-Precision-Competition....besides wattage I'm looking for SQ....so my ? is where would the iPaul fall in the Helix line up anyone I sold my Xetec equipment so looking for something to replace it:dunno:

grep 05-22-2008 11:59 PM

As far as price goes the iPaul is closest to the Esprit line up. As far as SQ I think you would need golden ears and a silent vehicle interior to tell the difference. The only way to really tell is to demo them both using the same equipment.

Thats the thing no one here in the SF bay Area carries Helix or Rainbow:stroke:.....so I was in the market for a set of Rainbow SAC kicks 6.5's $305 with an iPaul 4.300 $350 or a set of helix P236 precisions $340 or S6 compititions $550 with an Helix Esprit H400 or B4 precision:dunno:....the price is way cheaper for the rainbow iPaul amp $350 compare to the esprit H400$549 B4$800 and A4comp $1100 but are the SQ close in brands???

grep 05-23-2008 12:40 AM

Don't worry so much about the "sound" of the amp. Speaker placement is the biggest factor in SQ. Of course if you like it loud, huge amounts of clean power definitely helps!

greekspec 05-23-2008 12:44 AM

true but I want this to be my last system I had a JL 4/300 and sold it the next week I like exclusive German brands so go figure I work for Audi what can I say BTW thanks for the info

dude! being from San Fran I figured were going to go with something that has remotely anything to do with gayness. Thus, you should have gone with RaInBoW :supergay:

The A2 is a 2 channel amp so you won't be going active with that set up.

Hey, how about a review already? Thanks in advance.

Junkinthetrunk 09-30-2008 07:13 AM

Yes................ lets hear about it............ no pun intended.

Sasha 09-30-2008 01:38 PM

Also, looking at the A4 amp, I cannot see the top and bottom guts. Can you confirm possibly, if it uses T03 transistors, and how many? Thanks

Hey, Tom! Thanks for the Arc subs in my sig. I got them from you a while ago. They are sweet sounding subs. I saw you are selling the Arc SE's. I am looking for 4200SE, actually - too bad, curious about this gear.
