Those are my old ones that just got stolen

Lord Huggington 12-08-2009 01:36 AM

Eclipse doesn't make an SW 15". You got your Tis stolen. Get an alarm before another sub. My car was stolen last year :(.

carpetrug 12-08-2009 01:37 AM

ooh right eclipse Ti 15's

MR2NR 12-08-2009 01:33 PM

Those were one incredible sub, come up with a budget and I will come up with some options. What size is the box that they are mounted in? Ported or sealed? What amp was running them?

Sikk Nation 12-08-2009 10:45 PM

that's a really bigass shoe to fill. in terms of output it depends on the enclosure you had. In terms of SQ.. same deal..depends on the enclosure. To get another sub all around that good at a lower budget is asking for miracles. Drop Rob ^^^ MR2NR a message, he'll set you in the right direction

carpetrug 12-09-2009 12:31 AM

well now i have no enclosure, but it was a sealed fibreglass box. Uuh, im looking to spend maybe 700$ total, but I wouldnt mind buying anything used. I also already have a spare box

MR2NR 12-09-2009 12:45 PM

Want loud? I still need to know what amp you have as well.

Lord Huggington 12-09-2009 01:49 PM

What's the sensitivity on those Ti's? Do they come in 12"? Are they 3000 rms? x-max?

Lord Huggington 12-09-2009 01:55 PM

Still get an alarm before the subs. Don't make the same mistake! Get one that says BACK UP BITCHES OR YOU GET THE SHOTTY!

MR2NR 12-09-2009 02:24 PM

They are long discontinued. They were rated at 750 rms. Not a very efficient sub either. I will find the spec sheet, I think I have it somewhere.

Got an alarm Now. Basically I dont have an amp either, it got stolen aswell. still ridin no sound system, and rather ticked. so if you could help me find basically any sound system for 700$ and I have the box. I also have the deck still but I need a component system aswell. My normal woofers are basically blown, and tweeters suck. I want a system that basically both pounds loud, and also has good quality sound. Balanced I guess. I dont know enough about sound systems to find one myself, bu I just want my best bang for my buck. in the mean time im gonna research about sound systems. I can get my uncle to hook me yup with an awsome custom box so that is no big deal. Can also get component systems pretty cheap aswell. I appreciate the help guys

$700 can get you a good pair of 12" subs and a amp to power them. No they will not even come close to the level of performance that your Eclipse subs had but it will deliver good results for the budget.

carpetrug 12-11-2009 10:22 PM

what subs and amp though? I know there is endless answers to that question, but could you suggest a couple systems?

MR2NR 12-11-2009 10:30 PM

OK if I answer that by PM tomorrow when I am at the store? I have the Pioneer Premiere subs on sale right now in the 12" version. If we choose right we might even be able to squeeze some components in. What size?

carpetrug 12-11-2009 10:38 PM

Any size that you see would be most efficient. Im thinkin 12's then. O

If your looking for something along the lines of the Eclipse Ti's then look at some Tc-Sounds/AUdiopulse subwoofers.

Guys in the states are selling them all the time...

Just talked to my Uncle. He said he has a few mediocre amps for sale. He has a kicker 350.4 amp, Sony xplod 760 watts, Sony xplod 500 watts, Phoenix Gold XS2500 from 1999.

he said he will give them to me for 50% of retail price. just wondering if that would help. I dont have to buy those ones but I am providing more options for cheaper.

He's half right....I would pick either the PG or the Kicker depending on the voice coil configuration you will be using.....:smilie_da

The Sonys are not in the same league by a long shot.

HTH

carpetrug 12-12-2009 12:16 PM

alright, could I buy two, one tro power components and one for subs? any clue how much I should give him, if he said 50% of retail?

MR2NR 12-12-2009 12:28 PM

50% off from retail on a amp that is 10 years old and the guy is your uncle? Damn, a amp that old should be free if it was from a relative.

MR2NR 12-12-2009 02:01 PM

The Kicker is a 4 channel class ab amp rated to 175w x 2 into 4 ohms when bridged. The Phoenix is a mono class AB amp rated at 500w rms into 4 ohms when bridged. Based on overall power, the Phoenix would be the way to go for driving a sub. Now, based on how old it is and the amp topology, it is not what I would recommend for driving subs. If you want to use these old amps for driving front speakers, sure knock yourself out.

I would look at a class D amp in this case with the same amount of power. This would be a dedicated mono sub amp, 500w rms into 2 ohms. Add a pair of the Pioneer Premiere subs I have on sale and you would be off to a great start. I have them available in dual 2 ohm and dual 2 ohm, both rated to 400w rms each so that a pair of either will easily match to any amps. A deal on a package would have a Exile S500.1 mono class D amp + a pair of the Pioneer Premeire TSW1207D2 subs for $450.00 + tax and shipping. This is well within your budget and might even allow you to pick up a new set of component speakers.

This would give you the bass response that you are looking for, especially if you are having a custom box made .

carpetrug 12-13-2009 04:04 PM

carpetrug 12-13-2009 04:15 PM
