Help! 2x12's ~ Kicker or Rockford Fosgate

I will be purchasing 2 of these 12 inch subs for a sealed enclosure. Each sub would have approximately 1.75 cu ft of sealed air space and 600 RMS powering them. Which is better? Pro's & Cons?

1st option:
2006 12" Kicker CVX12-4 Comp VX 1,500 watt maximum output (750 RMS)
Dual 4 ohm voice coils
1500 watts max power handling
750 Watts RMS power handling
87.1 DB sensitivity
frequency response: 20 - 500 K
mounting depth: 6 5/8, 16.8
cut out diameter: 11 1/8 28.3
sealed box volume: 1 - 4.60 cubic feet
vented box 1.75 - 2.25 cubic feet

2nd option:
Rockford Fosgate T112D4 1200Watt 12" DVC Subwoofer
Dual 4 ohm voice coils
600 RMS / 1200 Peak power handling
124 oz triple stacked motor assembly
3" anodized aluminum voice coil
8 AWG speaker terminals
6.625" depth
1.25 cubic feet enclosure size sealed
2.25 cubic feet enclosure vented

3rd option? Any suggestions?

Thanks!!!

What are you going for? Just straight SPL? or do they have to sound good too? I know you can make the rockford's insanely loud and never had any problems with them blowing, But i'd like to assume that those kicker CVX's (being the L7 design) are still better subs.

I guess I am looking for a little of both. Spl and clean sound. I hope to match up the amp power to subs pretty well with regards to RMS watts. Do you these Kickers are underated? I am hearing the same about RF's too though.

Tough call. Both are going to be stellar. I'm a Kicker man but the CVX are brand new and first generation. Time will tell. I have a pair (CVX12") on order for one my Team Visions crew. They will be powered by two Memphis 1100wrms monoblocks.

The T1 and T2 Power subs from Fosgate are just plain nutty. People are hitting some big numbers using them in the states. There is just not alot of RF Power Dealers in Canada. ie....Futureshop carries Rockford but can not get the Power series but Visions carries the full line.

I hear that these two model of subs are under-rated. Does anyone know what the safest maximum RMS power you could run to one of these bad boys. I have 600 RMS available to each, how high could I go safely?

i have a deeply knowledgeable friend using 3 CVX 10's with 1000 wrms each in a sealed SQ set-up (which is damn loud by default) and he's very impressed and completely happy (this is someone who's toyed around with SOLOX's before for SPL).
the CVX provide almost the same output (handle the same power as the L7's) but work better in small sealed enclosures, with a strong focus on SQ.

LMAO @ kicker subs being 'underrated'

I personally wouldn't touch either brand but thats just me... alpine Rs come to mind but so do the ID subs going on ebay for cheap if they are still around...

How do you explain two other people running 1100 watts RMS and 1000 watts RMS to to this Kicker sub? How are they not somewhat under-rated.

He explains it by having a very BIG bias against Kicker.

When ever he expresses his opinions about the line, just skip the post. :smilie_da

I know because I've reconed a few kicker subs and I can tell you they are not 'underrated' compared to other brands... infact they seem overrated to me....
