Help With Budget System
Hey guys, i just got my first car a 2004 neon. Not exactly a chick mobile but it runs.
Im looking to put a modest system in it, I was wondering if you guys could offer me some suggestions,
All i want is a deck that has an input for Mp3 players, some descent sounding speakers and a small sub. Is that possible for 300 to 350$
Ive been doing some reseach and trying to price stuff out but im totally lost.
Thanks

$350 can probably get you a deck, sub w/box and maybe an amp. Keep in my mind you need a wiring kit. Use the existing speakers to start - you may not want to change them once you get a sub - You can try ebay but - buyer beware

Ive Already Blown My 2 Front Speakers so i need to change them, I might just go for a deck and 2 front speakers.
Could i run a sub off of just the deck? I found a cheap Infinity 300watt Amp for 99$ at FutureShop. It's probably worthless though.

Just a tip, and noone listens the first time, but eventually they all will agree.
instead of settling on a poor system and never really being satisfied, and feel like you wasted time and money, take your budget (300-350) but a GOOD deck that does all the things you want it to do. then save up and buy some GOOD front speakers, then save some more and get a GOOD amp......in a year you'll have a good system you're happy with instead of a very mediocre one that leaves a sour taste in your mouth.

^^^ Agreed. The cheapest decent system I can think of would consist of...
1. New Pioneer HU with 3 pre-outs = $150 at Best Buy or something
2. New Phoenix Gold RSD component set = $150 shipped from EBay
3. Used 12" sub with box from CCA = $150
4. Used strong enough 4-channel amp to power all from CCA = $300(e.g Fosgate Punch 800.4, or equavalent)
5. Install and wiring = $250
= $1000
add-on option would be Dynamating the front doors for I guess around $150 total for job and material.
*Anything less would be uncivilized

You know what i agree with you too,,,, but ive got 2 blown speakers that makes anything im listening to sound like , and id rather not wait for a year before i have the money to buy a high quality system. I realize it's probably not going to sounds anywhere! near what a high quality system will, but il will do me for a couple years
And i would be installing it myslef
