I'm looking for an alpine navigation system to add to my dvd player/monitor. Anyhow I was looking around and have come across the nve-n852a and nve-n871a add on navigations and wanted to know which was the newer unit and which was the better unit. I know the nve-n872a is the newest but that's WAY out of my price range and other two units seem so be attainable a lot cheaper. Anyhow the nve-n852a seems to look like the newer model but I'm not sure. I would really appreciate the help of the guru's on here. Thanks.

 

get the Black bird... its able to run off your headunit via ai net cable, and its only like 550 canadian brand new!

 

I don't really care for the portable navi unit. Plus I can possible get either of the units mentioned for about 2-300. Anyone know which of the two is actually newer?

 

I believe the nve72 a is newer but not 100%

 

Maybe you misunderstood. I actually know that infact the nve-872a is the newest one but i was wondering whether the nve-852a or nve-871a is the newer unit.

 

just by looking at the model i would say the 871 over 852

 

That's what i'm thinking the only reason i'm rethinking it is because the nve-852 looks soo much newer than the 871. There appearance of the two is what throws me off.
