Can somebody please help a NewB... i'm been driving for 2 weeks without any music... not just bass, but music!!! it's killing me...

my head unit (kenwood x869) just didn't turn on one morning... i checked all the fuses... everything looks good, put the stock radio back in, that didn't work either... so it's my car... after i change a fuse it'll turn on for 3 seconds, then turn off again, and never turn back on... all the connections look good as far as i can tell...

my car's only 5 years old (99 sentra), Anyone have any ideas what the problem might be?

Thanks in advance for any help that can be offered...

What fuse did you change? And has taht fuse blown again?

lilpun 11-16-2004 10:40 AM

i changed the car's fuse, but neither the car's or the head unit's fuse was blown, i changed it jus in hopes that might solve the problem...

but it didn't do anything, unit still wouldn't turn on...

BTW, thanks for the quick reply.

Sounds like a bad connetion somewhere... get ahold of a DMM or a testlight and check power, ground, and accessory on the HU's wire harness...

i 'd think its the vehicle fuse if both radio's don't work
as in firing up for 3 secs when plugging in thats the the mechanism initializing itself
theres probably another fuse your missing or a bad power source or ground

wow you guys are awesome!!! i'm gonna check all that when i get back this weekend... Thanks for all the help! hopefully my problems will be solved...

Oh Pinhead, I've checked all the fused (both on the driverside and under the hood, whether they were related to the head unit or not. are there any others that might effect the radio like that?
