im looking for deep clean bass! i have a Jeep Grand Cherokee with stock infinity gold oem speakers running through a Kenwood KDC-MP4032 4V pre-outs, JL Audio 500/1 amp, and rockford 1000 watt farad cap powering a single 12" alpine type r dvc dual 2ohm sub in a small mega hertz ported box.

i thought it would sound good, but its not what im looking for! or maybe it cause i dont know how to tune and tweak with the amp or settings with the crossovers on the head unit or change box to vent, sealed, bandpass or custom spec style?

my buddies blazer has a single 10" W7 with H.O. box and same amp and it kills mine! why? does alpine type r suck or am i just a nube?


what should i do? what should i expect? i want tight bass

 

how small's the box? give it 1.5 cubes ported, tuned to 31hz,
