Help me troubleshoot please!
 

I'm having some problems with my stereo.

It's a pretty basic setup. A Kenwood KDC-MP522, Rockford front speakers (whatever size is standard in a Cavalier) and Alpine 6X9s in the back. I'm pretty sure the left rear speaker is blown because it often really sounds like a blown speaker..but it's kind of confusing because other times I can crank up the system and everything sounds great. It sounds the most blown during quieter sections with deep bass, tho I've inspected it and pushed on it without being able to find anything wrong with the speaker. Pretty convinced it's blown tho..and I've blown 6x9s with this head unit before and it just sounds like it.

The other thing that is funny recently is that sometimes I'll hit a bump and both right speakers will cut out. Then I'll hit another bump and they'll both come back on. Could this be an issue with worn wiring, or could the right channel in the head unit's amplifier be going? What do you guys think? Could the speaker that sounds like it's blown be related to this as well?

If you guys can help me figure out what's going on I'd really appreciate it! How should I tackle this one?

i will say that you do not have an amp in the set up !

1st remove the speakers see if there are bad wires or if the speaker taps are hitting the car.
you may need to look where the wires run to see if there is a cut wire or if there is a bad wire at the deck
2nd is, you have the deck at full power to the speaker ,you might be getting clipping

99% chance its a wiring issue. one of the connections has come loose or a wire has rubbed against sharp metal long enough that its worn thru the insulation and is shorting out. take your deck out and check all the wires over.

the blown speaker woudln't have anything to do with the other side of the car cutting out. if you really want to know if its a blown speaker as opposed to your deck, switch the speakers in the front and see if the problem moves with the speakers or if it stays on the same sides of the car.

This is all exactly what I was thinking. Thanks for the response! Will probably just switch the rear speakers out on my own because I'm so convinced it's blown just by the sound. Will leave the wiring for now unless it starts getting really bad..will take it in then since I don't feel like ripping the entire car apart looking for the worn wire. No fun in my books.
