Help - my amp is on fire!!
I did not buy any insurance off of E-bay so I doubt I can return it anywhere for a refund... Anyway, the amp was bought used and it worked great for a month with no problems - looks like I'll buy retail next time.
I took a closer look at the amp and a resistor (or a set of resistors) are a bit burnt. A tiny bit of the circuit board turned brown from the heat so I doubt it will be a cheap fix. I am probably better off just buying a new amp. I have a line on an Audisson LRX 2.500 (demo model) for $700 so I might buy it to replace the Diamond. The LRX puts out 660 watts RMS which will be lots for the sub.

Except that it is a beyatch for heat signature and will go thermal on you quicker than a pyromaniac with a lighter. While they are nice amps, all experiences I have had with the Audison amplifiers used to power subs has been less than stellar.
Hey
I've never run across an amp that wasn't repairable, if you pay enough anything can be fixed!
Sounds like one (or both) of the channels is bad if the bias resistors are making the board brown, too bad it's near impossible to refinish the board. Let me know if you are interested in selling it, I need more heatsinks.

I spoke to a Diamond dealer in Edmonton (Adrenaline Audio) and they are going to see about getting it fixed. I posted a pic - you can kind of see the three resistors that have turned brown from the heat.
eBay will do nothing to repair/replace your amp. eBay considers itself a 3rd party auction site, meaning they will just connect buyer and seller. All claims will only be ebay's responsibility if you bought it when not stated as-is and if it was junk from the start, or you didn't receive it. Your best best is filing a claim against the seller with the service you used to pay, your credit card company or paypal. Even then it's a long shot if it was working fine when you got it
