HELP!! Need advice on speaker decision!!!

I am about to buy a new set of 6.5" speakers, and was wondering if anybody could give me any advice to help me choose between these 2 speakers...

The first are JBL 6 1/2" 2-Way Car Speakers (GT5-652)
http://www.bestbuy.ca/catalog/prodde...on=&langid=EN#

and the others I am looking at are MTX Thunder 6" Euro Triaxial Speaker (THX603)
http://www.futureshop.ca/catalog/pro...0096891&catid=

both for $50.... basically MTX against JBL....I'm no audio techy nor do I have much experience in the field, so I'm just looking for some expereienced or expert advice on which would ultimately be the better sounding speakers that go along with my system

I currently drive a Nissan Sentra SE-R... rockford fosgate deck with a 10 inch sub that came stock in the back...it has a small amp attached to the roof of the trunk, not sure of the watts...

any help is much appreciated :smilie_da

(also, if anybody else has any better deals than this in terms of pricing or speaker quality, then I am always willing to take a look at them :smokin:)

with a $50 budget, you really aren't going to be getting any kind f drastic omprovement, most likely you'll just get louder, extremely peaky sounding highs.

If it's all you really want to spend on a pair, go with the JBL's

i would go with the JBL's also b/c of the style plus i don't care for MTX at all lol! but keep in mind the MTX are 3way speakers so there is another tweeter in that speaker so it will have a better sound and the JBL are 2 way so they will offer a better bass, but for 50$ they will most likey sound about the same lol! are you going to amp them?

How will adding a tweeter give better sound? Usually quite the opposite. the whole 3 and 4-way coaxial shenangians is just marketting preying on the general consesus that "more is better". In audio the less parts producing sound, the less cancellation and problems you encouter.

umm i though the more tweeters the clear the speaker will sound no? b/c tweeters don't play bass i thought but thanks for the correction.

i always thought the more tweeters the more clearer the music will sound and the less amount of tweeters the more basss it will have... but i don't use coaxial speakers any more i now use 2 sets of components
