well, I mean to differentiate between "the subwoofer driver itself" and "the subwoofer system".

The subwoofer system represents the load on the amplifier. It's a black box, all the amp sees are two wires (+ and-) connected to it. Anything could be happening downstream of those wires.

I'd swap the entire subwoofer system out with another one, borrowed from a friend, that is the same impedance load on the amplifier, to see if the problem is tied to the subwoofer system...

If the problem goes away with the borrowed sub, then the subwoofer driver itself in yours is just one of the possibilities of what might be wrong in that "black box" scenario.

If the problem remains, then you are back looking at the amp again...
Possibly the techies didn't test the amp with the same load as what you are presenting it with, I don't know.

I've noticed that it only goes out when i put my deck on volume # 28+ (33 is the max #)
for the last 5 days i kept it on 25 and it hasn't gone out once.

Does this information give you guys any ideas as to what the problem might be ?
