i will be switching the jl's out for 2 10" idmaxs and a new enclosure will be made. i'm debating on two different enclosures. both ways i'm thinking of will have the trunk sealed off from the cabin. my first option is a center ported enclosure firing forward like they are already but removing the center arm rest and surrounding material with the port firing into the cabin. option 2 is facing the subs up and cutting my rear deck like this: http://fresnoracing.ipbhost.com/inde...showtopic=6651 , and firing the subs off of the rear window. what do you think? the only thing i'm worried about with option 2 is messing up the structural intergrity of the rear deck. also, how do you think option 1 will sound sealed?

In my sedan, which I will defer from describing because it is pale in comparison, I had the subs up into the rear glass.

Sounded good, but they were in a sealed and never really SHOOK the setup like I had hoped...maybe it was due to equipment, but I speak only from experience.

But it definitely shook the crap out of the window eventually.....its an older car so there are that sort of issues... I eventually had the rear deck removed and a frame made out of wood to fit there, and then wrapped in carpet, so that the entire rear deck was in effect open for the 'blow through effect. Havent had everything put in yet, but I expect it will 'open up' the airflow.

Maybe you could run them as they are, with the ports firing up into the window/rear deck??

A friend had an older Caddy Eldorado with the subs firing back, and the back deck ported so that the holes lined up with those on the box (essentially 'porting' right through the back deck) and it sounded GREAT.

Also OT, but wow. I am rarely impressed by installs, but yours is amazing. I wouldn't change a thing.

I don't think cutting the parcel shelf in a big way is worth it, as this portion of the car has a lot to do with chassis stiffness.

wholely crap, that is my dream install. i so envy that install, i;m thinking of expermintign with fiberglass, i might try and do the spare wheel well of my car this summer. ohh that is so nice, i just can't stop saying that in my head. and whats even awsome is that they are both really nice cars, the 300 is even nicer(it's like a rich guys car, but it's not, cuase it's cheap).
