help,what to do

I have an FJ cruiser,HU alpine 9887,two soundstream D200's driving two infinity kappa 10's 240 per 10, 1.65 cu ft per 10 tuned to 50 hz.I'm happy with my bottom end.I just installed 5.25 morel components doors and dash a soundstream D100 running them, mids and high are sweet.I have installed but not not hooked up another D100 and two Class A50's to spare. When listening to jazz &blues it sounds very good ,good stage good imageing.but it doesn't have enough punch. If I play Dire Straits, money for nothing the intro vocals are great the intro drums are weak the bass run is great. The fj definately needs dyna mat,but I don;t know what to do first Should I move the 5.25's to the rear, rear fill ,put 6.5's in the door ,bridge the D100's and forget about rear fill????

I am not to big on rear fill. I ould close up that door and put lots of deadner in there. The door has huge openings.

I have my 5 1\4 in some custom kicks and get good midbase,

when you say your subs are tuned to 50hz...do you mean crossed over at 50 hz? Are they in a ported enclosure or sealed? 50 hz tuning seems a little high for ported non spl applications, and 50 hz low pass crossover setting may be too low to give you the added punch you want. Try 80 hz if that's the case.

encloseur is ported tuned to 50hz,I will go check my cross over setttings. These amps were tri amped system for many many years, in a 89 T-bird ,active no passive crossovers, the 200's were driving 4x10's port tuned to37.5 hz.The FJ is a really nasty environement,no carpeting no sound deadening

You have a huge gap in driver size between the sub and the midrange. Not having had one of these vehicles apart before, I would see if I can add a 6.75" mid components up front with the mid in the door and move the 5.25" to the rear. I happen to like rear fill. A good dose of deadener should of course be applied as well.

I agree with MR2NR, if it was my ride, I'd put 6.5 or 6.75 up front and put the 5.25's in the rear. I also like rear fill, so since you have them...use them.

You can easily fit an 8 in the doors with no modification and the kicks are roomy with the auto.
3.5 will fit in the dash and 4 inches I think can be fitted in the back.

Sounds like the add a midbass option from Morel is something that he could look at.
