JL Set Up.. 500/1 or 1000/1?
Hey, Im new to the forum and this is my first post.
I am currently in the process of setting up a new system. I have pretty much determined Im going to run a complete JL system. I own a 02 mercury cougar and have decided to run C5 5x7 coax (front) and TR 5x7 coax (rear) on a 300/4 amp. I have also decided on the 10W7 in the HO box. Now, JL has this particular set up rated at 750WRMS, and Im unsure if I should run a 500/1 or a 1000/1 to it? I love listening to my music loud, but am big into SQ and want to make sure this sub hits every note properly. What do you think about the set up, and what amp to chose? Thanks for any input.

^^agree with MTT, go with the 1000/1. Rest of the system seems fine, except you may want to consider a component set for the front as it allows better tweeter placement, and potentially better SQ due to typically higher quality cross overs, and drivers. Otherwise, seems like a solid set up and very good equipment.

Thanks for the input, I was leaning towards the 1000/1 anyways.
Just to justify the coax set up. My car doesnt have a stock tweeter set up and I do not want to drill holes anywhere for them. Plus having the tweeter closer to the woofer is better in my opinion, and I need as big of a speaker as possible up front for better mid bass than my 5.25 set up I have now. The speakers on the doors are closer to the top than bottom. The C5 components and coaxs use the same crossovers I believe.

Well I went with the 1000/1 and is ridiculous.. The C5s in the door sound great too..
The Dynamat on the doors makes a huge difference with the sound as well as the road noise.. I didnt get the hatch done, but thats next on the list..
Heres what it looks like.
