Hi/Lo Pass Question

I have Hertz HSK 165XL components up front. Some JBL GTO 5.25 components in rear doors. A Hertz 10" sub and a 5 channel Hertz sub powering. With a Pionneer AVIC HU.

When I first got system running, highs/mids were solid but poor bass response. I adjusted Lo pass on bass to 70. Then adjusted sub volume to 4. Bass response was great. But it was opposite of before in that bass was great but highs seemed a little muddled. So adjusted the level on Channels A and B. And adjusted the high and low pass on both A and B channels. Now I'm back to missing the bass response. Not as bad but not as punchy. Adjusted Lo pass on bass back to 70 and got some of it back.

Should I adjust the 6.5 and 5.5 woofers and allow a little more base into those through the Lo pass filter to round out the punch?

I also think I need to reduce the level of the mid and tweets. They are loud. And if I crank volume to feel big bass, the highs are too loud.

1. I'm thinking I should reduce mid and tweet levels
2. Increase low pass on channel B (the mids) to let a bit more bass through those even tho most bass for sure from sub.
3. Leave channel A about the same.

Just trying to balance it out with excellent lows and punchy bass with clear leveled out highs. Not sure what a "normal" setting would be for that set up. Any tips?
