Fairly reliable with a decent track record.
A bit optimistic on the power ratings of their amps but they still do good power per dollar.

Not a bad choice if on a budget.

I'm looking at getting a Hifonics Brutus amp to drive a Treo 15" SSi sub.
I've looked on Hifonics' website, and reviewed each amp's ratings; however I don't know if their raties are at 17V or 14.4V.

I guess bottom line, I don't know which amp to get that will properly supply my Treo sub with 750W rms? Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
NVES

I just received my brutus bx-1205 and while I can not tell you about reliability, I can definitely say that the power seems to be there as I am comparing it to a rockford p6001bd and pioneer gm d510m and rockford power t8002 in my cousins car( switched amps to compare and sounded about the same, 800 rms vs. 900 rms). The amp does not heat up at all and looks quite cool with great features. I say go for it, at least if they all bag out I won't be the only sucker.

My Brutus was a pain in the *** from day one. Shut off for absolutely no reason, and ended up blowing up, twice. Never will buy the Brutus line again, though I would likely buy a Colossus or two, as they are LOUD.

I'm quite happy with my BX1000D...
picked it up for 200 CDN shipped to my door.
Never had a problem with it, and it definately pounds my IDMAX
