just bought a hifonics 5 channel odd ebay
from what i read they are solid amp
any input?

DCoAD 02-27-2004 07:19 PM

Yes Hifonics are very solid, good value amps. I own a XI THOR, and have been very happy with this amp from day one, amazingly clean, solid features, they will do there rated RMS. They may not poses TRU technology, sinfoni, or brax quality, but dont be fooled by there low prices(unauthorized dealer anyways) IMO for the prices they are at now, they destroy their competition.

And come on everything else aside Hifonics amps are just plain SEXY!

BTW was it the Zues Zx8000? If so who did u buy it from? I am looking into buying that amp. thx.

hmm cool, thats where i was thinking. How much did he charge for shipping?

Tim Baillie. 02-27-2004 08:35 PM

Hifonics from back in the day will smoke most new amps on the market for power........

Series 6, 7 and 8..........

Kick ass stuff.............

Dereck Waller 02-27-2004 08:36 PM

I had an original optidrive, wicked amp, can't comment on the new stuff though

Paul Niwranski 02-27-2004 08:41 PM

^ Wasn't Lanzar Optidrive?

Dereck Waller 02-27-2004 08:46 PM

Damn I hate this quick reply box I always hit "go" instead of add reply.
Anyways, yes it was a lanzar, I'm an idiot. The only Hifonics I know of was in a friends car he had the ulyses or something. I saw a colossus at a pawn shop a few years back.

Paul Niwranski 02-27-2004 08:50 PM

lol - I had a customer from Wainwright that was a total HiFonics freak - and I have no idea why cuz nobody in Alberta was selling it and he certainly never had any...

A Colossus would be cool to own.

Dereck Waller 02-27-2004 08:56 PM

Audio Excellence here in the Hat sold them, along with Lanzar, Rodek, Soundstream.

In my Toyota once upon a time I had 2 Zeus (300x2) and 3 Thors (150x2) all Series 7. They were awesome, huge amounts of power.............

Had all M&M Godfather subs

He told me $15 USD to ship to Canada and that he knows how to ship so you don't get hit too hard with duty.

kirk tarrant 02-28-2004 06:15 AM

my shipping was 39.99 to newfound land for 4-7 days shipping
he said he will mark the value low so duties wont apply

I picked up a wicked component set by HI FONICS off ebay for $30 brand new. I would rate the quality very close to Boston's Rally series which retailed for about $300.

Hey, WTF does a Godfather look like? I'm always hearing people talk about them, but I don't think I've ever seen one...anybody have pics?

Paul Niwranski 03-01-2004 01:18 PM

The Godfather was round, with a cone, dustcap, basket, magnet. You know - a woofer.

Muckaluck 03-03-2004 12:27 PM

Wow. If he said $15 to ship to Canada; he charged me $39 for my Phoenix Gold amp. Maybe different amp sizes/weights?
