Opposite. I think the members on this site will tell you that those amps are GOOD actually, so yeah ...

I mean, does any amp put out the numbers they claim ... I don't know, I don't find a whole lot that do (12v, 14v, etc) but yeah, they put up numbers.
Safe bet, especially compared to other major consumer brands.

I think a few of the other members are going to chum in and give you some feedback on this one ... (unfortunately, not me) ... talking like 420Guy or Jalat are a few I can think of off hand, somewhat interested in SQ and running Hifonics at one point or another, especially Nick (420) ...

So, just give this thread tonight or a few more days

Have you been to the shows? You'll get a lot more feedback on what you're running there as well ... pop your trunk, sit by your car and let the magic happen ...
Or heck, mingle lmao

I had a brutus bx 1205d for 4years with absolutely no problems...it's rated at 1200 @ 1ohm, but actually delivered 1052 watts using an amp clamp and fluke dvm with sine waves at 14 volts....so a little over rated, but still plenty of watts/dollar. SQ is as good as any other amp at 1ohm. I've compared it directly to an RF power 10001bd, and an old school Hifonics Zeus that my buddy still has...no SQ difference with the RF at 1 ohm, but slightly worse to my ears than the zeus (most likely due to the sub having to be re wired to 4ohm to accomodate the zeus's 900 watts @ 4ohm output bridged(specs)) . In his car with his set up it was 2.3 dB's lower spl than the RF and 1.4 dB lower than the zeus (note old school Hifonics were always under rated and actually tested at 1126 watts with our clamp and dvm...the RF was almost 1400 watts). It ran in my car for 4 years at 1ohm for approx 3 hours a day, and when it was sold it was still in great working order. From my experience a definite best buy for value vs. performance.
