Hmm...

:dunno: Will my car's charging system handle my stereo?

I have a 1985 Cavalier right now with a 2.0L 4-cyl. engine. The battery is bigger than what should be in there if that makes any difference.

What about a capacitor? Will a .5 Farad cap help out much?

The subs are 2 10's that are 600rms for both, and the amp is a Kenwood KAC-8152D. 1100w peak and 550rms at 2 ohm. 4 guage wiring.

i have a firend that has a 2.5 L probe and he has about the same wattage with his stereo and the cars handles it very well at night when he tunrs it right up the lights barley dim at all so just wait and see what ur systme does if the light r dimming out alot then get a 1 farad cap or a new alt if they dont dim dont worrie about it if ur only a daily pounder

Yeah, it's just a DD so it's not going to have a huge system or anything.

I guess all I can do is wait and see what will happen. It shouldn't be that bad.

If you do have some dimming problems, do the Big 3 before you spend money on caps, batteries or a new alternator.....:smokin:

I was thinking of doing the "Big 3", but on my car, it looks like it would be pretty involved hahaha. :dunno:

I need a step-by-step write up on what to do.

I have a 95 Cavalier. The only modifications I've done are those for my stereo. I am imagine the Cavalier didn't change too much from the 10 years. I've got no headlight dimming, no ground noise and clean and clear sound at high levels. Have a look at my specs and signature if it helps ya.

Suggestions to improve my system also are welcome too! It's an ongoing project eh!

Ohh Snap !! That drawing really gave me a better perspective on how the whole wiring setup goes.. Was looking for a nice clean drawing like that.. :smilie_da

Man, that's quite the wiring lay out you got there... Good job. :smilie_da
