Hey guys I did a search on this and didnt really come up with anything.... Is there any place in the Vancouver area or? that you can buy some reasonably good bulk parts (cable, ends) to make your own? I know theres lots on ebay but I would rather buy local if there is a source that isnt outrageously priced.
Thanks

I make my own buss bars, etc from billet alum. Also 6" aeroport tube from alum, it's close to $80 a foot, but worth it.

I personally get great enjoyment out of building things from raw stock but in many cases suppliers dont want to sell small amounts to the home DIYer for a reasonable $

You can get RCA ends at any electronics parts retailer. You can pay a lot for the ones from Radio Shack (oops, The Source I mean), or a little less for ends from RP Electronics in Burnaby. They have a few to choose from though.

As for wire, I use 18 to 22 ga. stranded wire in colors to match my install and then spin them up in a drill for a tight twist to them. Voila: you now have UTP (unshielded twisted pair) RCA cables.

Noise? Zero. In fact, at the USAC western finals the SQ judge commented on how incredibly quiet the noise floor was on my truck.

Commercial Electronics has ends. Expensive stuff.

SUX2BU is right about the twisted pair. I went that route and it's great.

Or you can do what I did and buy them from Timmy. I think he has some used stuff as well as new from Streetwires.

Give him a call. Maple Ridge to Port Kells is like a ferry ride away.

WOW!! Just got home and read all the replys thanks guys thats great info I'm going to give making my own up with the twisted wire route that SUX 2BU suggested since I have tons of silver stranded teflon coated 18g in blue and silver that will look nice with the blue speaker wire.
