looking at either the JL 500/5 or the alpine pdx-5 to run my entire system in my chev silverado ext cab........being 6.5" components in the doors, coaxials in the rear and maybe a single 12 sealed in the rear.....will these amps run the entire system well?

personally, I like a bit more power for my sub(s), but yes they will will run your whole system well. I would choose an efficient sub to get the most output with the limited power though.

You have room in that truck for a nice 10 ported, with space left over for the amp.
**** loud and sealed don't quite get along together. 10W3 in 1.1 net at 30 gives a good deal of output with the 250w. The front of that amp is smooth, and the 25 rear suits whatever rear you might do.
Sealed, I'd be looking for lots more bottom power.

Either of the amps you mentioned would do nicely. If you want more power to the sub you could look at the Arc Audio 900.6. In a 5-ch setup it would give you 4 x 60 + 1 x 550. It's about the same size as the JL. If size is an issue, then the Alpine is by far the smallest of them.

well, i looked into the JL audio stealthboxes for my truck and i can get a 12w3v3 or a 10w6v2 both being in a ported box to fit under the rear drivers seat.......but the 12 is $950 and the 10 is $1099 plus gst....and of course it all depends on who you talk to....whether they are worth it or not and now im kinda thinking that im gonna need to seperate amps........was kinda looking at the JL 300/4 and the 500/1 or the alpine 450 and the mono 650......and also, what are some good 6.5" component systems?......my buddy has type r's in his dakota but i also heard that infinity is pretty good good and so is the alpine type x series.
