Hi guys,

Does anyone know how to buff light scratches out of plexiglass? My friend is selling a nice plexiglass enclosure but it has quite a few light scratches...nothing deep though. Thanks guys.

meguires (sp) makes a plastic polish ............never tried it on plexi, but it worked real well on my dad's motorcycle helmet visor and a few cd's I had

I get my buffing compounds from House of Tools here. I just use a buffing wheel on the end of my die grinder. I keep the air pressure pretty low. I suggest practicing on a piece of scrap to get the right speed and pressure, but generally you want a slower speed with a good amount of pressure.

Thanks for your responses.

Would any of these types of compounds be available at Canadian Tire, Home Depot, Walmart, or NAPA?

Try a place like Industrial Paints & Plastics.

They don't have that out east. Just look up plastics distributors or wherever you get your plexi from out there, they should guide you to the right place.

Most body shop supply stores have either Mother's Professional or Meguiars on the shelf and both lines include a plastic polish.
