How do i keep my factory head unit?

Ok so i just got a new 2007 chev silverado and the dash is so cool i dont want to put a deck in because it would just detract from the look. So what can i do to still use the factory HU(which plays mp3s and has a audio in jack plus xm radio) but use amps for subs and speakers. I have found the Alpine solution which is the VPA-B222 or the VPA-B211A which look like they would definately get the job done but im just keeping my options open and wanting some input from you guys.

So if i want to run an amp for the front speakers and subs do i tap into the front speaker wires using a Stinger SALOC and then for my subs do i use the rear speaker wires? Makes sense to me but i just want to make sure.

If you are going to be adding a amp for all speakers and a sub, consider a advanced LOC like the Audio Control 6XS. Although marketed as a crossover, it is indeed a advanced LOC, crossover, line driver, signal summer, master gain controller and includes a dash mounted level control for your sub preout.

www.audiocontrol.com for info on it.

Line Out Converter

Go the Audiocontrol route... you just dropped $55k or so on the truck so I'm assuming you're not looking for cheap cheap cheap.

The 6xs is a fabulous piece of equipment and I would highly recommend it as well.

Good luck with the truck. I just put my 2007 full load Chev Silverado LTZ full load in the shop with 650km's on it almost 2 weeks ago after the whole truck disabled itself with computer issues (stabilitrac, traction control, check engine light, tranny shifts incorrectly and HARSH). Haven't seen the truck since and the dealer doesn't know what's wrong with it either. Didn't even make it into the second tank of gas. Best $60k+ I ever spent.

Glad I didn't sell the 20 year BIMMER!!! Too bad they don't make a 1/2 ton.

I wish that BMW would start making trucks too.
