How durable is speaker wire?

I was installing my door speakers and I couldn't run the speaker wire through the rubber mount which all the other wires go through. I had to run the speaker wire outside the rubber mount so now whenever my doors are shut the wire is being squat between the door and the weather stripping. Will this cause damage to the wire?, because its the only way I could get the wire to the door.

ya it'll either rub through, short out and probbaly fry at least that channel of the deck. Or just break off and then you'll have to re wire it

Its a 2002 Chrysler Sebring. It wouldnt go through the boot because one side has a bunch of wires going through and then those wires plug in to a connector, which is on the other side of the boot.

Thumbs up

There should be at least one empty set of holes......drill them out, run the wire thru both sides and pop them back together.

If you leave it the way it is, sooner or later it will short out and the list of potential damage to your equipment when that happens is depressing.
