I agree with just running the car. If you only going to be in the car for 30 -60minutes it doesn't make sense to spend excessive money on batteries and an electrical heater.
If you really want to run an electrical heater, use robs idea (they should be paying for the electricity at least if they're making you eat your lunch outside in the cold) or get an extra battery (or more)
