how many batteries are enough?

Is there an amp/battery chart or some kinda calculation out there that would tell me how many batteries I should have for a certain amount of amp wattage?
The only chart relating to something like this is an AWG to watt chart, but that's wire..

that is a sales gimmick... who is the authority (Kinetic who also wants to sell kinetic batteries to you) and what are they calculating? and there is no mention of an alternator and also no mention of how you will be using the system

My technique is simple, keep adding batteries till my termlab score stops going up then I know I am not power supply limited

That calculator tells me to put 3 batteries in my trunk!!
Thats more weight than the subs and box. I'll add one and see what happens.

I added a 12v batt beside my amp along with a 6 farad capacitor and even with the long bass notes my meter never reads below 12v.
