I have the predecessor to the 710 (the 690UB).

Very good unit with lots of features.

Fairly easy to use once you read the instructions.

i don't know the 710bt, but i know the 700bt. Not a bad unit but my 9887 sounded way better, the thing with the 9887 is that it use the ipod DAC vs it's own and i found that if there's any EQ enable on the ipod it will sound like crap.

the ipod eq isnt the issue i dont think, i just think the 9887 may just not be the deck for me

YOu may be surprised with what you can accomplish with the 9887 if you can get the imprint running and the computer interface. I have heard good things.
