Well what do you think of it, since you have it.

I havn't installed my deck yet and Im still contemplating taking it back and getting the Panasonic 8400 for 20$ more. I just wanna hear that this deck isnt really as dissapointing as the reviews iv been reading.

Thats not why I chose the deck. I went into the store expecting to get the 8400 after doing some research on it and hearing it was a solid deck. I figured it would be way cheaper than any alpine deck as well. But then I saw the alpine and the dealer told me he could sell me that for 20$ cheaper than the Panasonic. I just wanted a new deck that i could rely on that played MP3'S and had subwoofer control. Both decks did this but since i realized Alpine was such a huge and trusted name i acted on impulse and bought the 9830. When I got home i started reading some negative reviews on this deck about the screen being hard to see and it having too many confusing useless features. Basically I just wanted to know if there was any reason why i shouldnt have got this deck over the 8400. The 9831 which was a bit more money was out of the question because of the price.

i used the i-personalize feature with my 9815 when i had it. kinda cool feature, not really necessary though. you can do the exact same thing right from the deck. still kinda cool.

i think you will have a problem seeing the display in daylight no matter what kind of deck....the sun is pretty damn bright
