If a tree falls in th.... sorry, if a sub is rated at 300 wattts/rms and is a dual voice coil woofer, does that mean each coil can "take" 300 watts each?...or a cumlative 150 +150?

Generally the total wattage would be divided between the coils so 150+150 would be right unless otherwise specified by the manufacturer.
